The number of subscribers is about 10000 and can become more.
So have the module been tested with such amount of people.

Yes it does. 1. drupal.org newsletter and security issues mailing lists both use Simplenews; 2. As you can see in last years Simplenews user survey approx. 5% of the simplenews newsletters have 10000+ subscribers.

I have a database of more than 210000 subscribers. I'm currently using SimpleNews but I need more functionality. For example, I want to personalize my newsletters (recipients's first names in subject line and throughout text body).

Can handle SimpleNews a subscriber database of that size?
