We have Mollom configured to filter our comment forms. However, when I just now upgraded to the latest version, I tried posting some spammy comments to see if they would get filtered, and they went through without a hitch. Is there any way to test whether Mollom is actually working to block spam submissions? I know you can see in the admin interface how many submissions have been blocked; I was just surprised to see what I could put in there and still have it be accepted.

dave reidIt's possible if you're logged in when you posted your 'spam' comment that the Mollom system has already identified you as a 'trusted' user.

EvanDonovan commentedOh, OK. I didn't realize that was part of how Mollom worked. I thought it was based solely off user permissions whether the spam filter was activated.

fumbling commentedThere's also some good stuff here: http://drupal.org/node/413528 and http://mollom.com/faq/how-do-i-test-mollom on how to test mollom as an admin by using the development mode.

elijah lynnThanks fumbling! Google search for "mollom spam test" led me to this node/answer! Although your first link links back to this same node. Loop.
Cheers!
