I installed the Storm module on Drupal 5 in the hopes of using it as part of a Drupal-based office Intranet for Project and task management, time tracking, etc. It all looked very promising and seemed a much simpler option than scouring the internet in the hopes of finding another program to do the same thing. I'm having a few problems with it though, mainly stemming from an utter lack of documentation. For instance:

- what is a ticket? What are they for?
- Info such as Countries and Currencies is listed under attributes in the brief module write-up, but I can't seem to edit or even find that info anywhere in my instance.
- I'm sure I can think of more, but I haven't had much of a chance to try it out much yet.
- Where are the installation instructions?
- Is there any other documentation?

Along the lines of the lack of documentation, when I checked back recently, I found that storm 5.x-1.14 was no longer available for download without navigated directly to the release notes. Apparently, now the module is only available for 6. Where does that leave me having already installed it?

I really want to use Drupal to manage projects and hours, but I've been barking up this tree for a while now and am beginning to wonder if it's possible. Please let me know how to proceed. Thanks.

Alex

I'm afraid development for the Drupal 5 version of this module is being deprecated. See this ticket: http://drupal.org/node/410784

OK, good to know, lol. It's not too clear from the ticket though if the 6 version of the module is stable enough to use. I'm on Drupal 5 now, but have been thinking of upgrading to 6 for a while, just want to make sure I won't run into the same issues or worse on the 6 version on the module. Also, what is VAT? Is that the British tax system? The main things I'm curious about is adding Countries and Currencies to attributes and ensuring the tax stuff is right for Canada/Ontario. Please let me know if you think it's worth it for me to upgrade to 6 to use storm, and whether these issues are resolved there. Otherwise, please let me know of a good solution for project management and time tracking on Drupal 5. Thanks.

Merely from a personal note, I would class the D6 version as stable, and use it myself.

The documentation definitely needs creating/improving, but you'll find that its possible to learn a lot by installing it on a test site and spending some time playing around with it! (Report back any issues you find).

Status: Active » Closed (won't fix)

Development has stopped on the 5.x branch (see above and #410784: Looking for a new maintainer), so I am marking this as "Won't Fix".

The 6.x branch already has an issue open regarding the need for more documentation.
