PHPArchitect is a printed magazine devoted to spreading information about PHP and related projects like MySQL, PHPMyAdmin and... Drupal! Look at the cover of the current issue and you will see 70% of the frontpage is taken by our beloved Druplicon.
Organizations, these days, are demanding content management applications, from company homepages to large, community websites. Author Titus Barik shows you how you can let Drupal help you build these sites quickly and efficiently by building on a common, modular framework.
On this page, Druplicon is introduced to the public as:
If you've already seen the cover (and if not, take a look!), you may be wondering what that raindrop-type-character is all about. It's called the "Druplicon," and it's the mascot and logo for a PHP content management system that is gaining more and more momentum: Drupal. Titus Barik takes you through the basics of how to use Drupal to create a real website, in short order, and without rewriting that same form-processing code.
I am not subscribed to this magazine, but it seems you can get one issue for free, currently the September issue. So if you wait a couple of month, you should be able to get the Drupal issue for free. On the other hand, having a sexy icon on the frontpage might be the reason that this issue of PHP Architect will be completly sold out by then, so why just not rush to your newsstand to get your issue before the hollidays.

Well done
The article, by Titus Barik, is comprehensive and detailed, and shows off the power of Drupal. Featured modules include donations, simplenews, survey, ecommerce, events, flexinode, RSVP, and even CivicCRM.
Great job, Titus, and welcome to the Drupal community, PHP architects!

This will help a lot in drupal's promotion. Looks like a promising 2006. Congrats to the development team.

Can I read the article somewhere without buying the magazine?
Searched around but didn't see the article on the 'net. Looks like there isn't a way to read just this article without buying the magazine. Or, is there?
Where is Figure. 7?
While waiting for Building Online Communities with Drupal, phpBB and WordPress to arrive from Amazon, I couldn't resist a peek at this article. Bought the digital edition of Dec 2005 "PHP Architect" and went through the article. While the article is decent introduction to a newbie (like myself), I don't see in it Figure 7 which is referred to in the article. Not sure if the missing figure is only in digital edition or if it is also missing in print edition.
Errata: Missing Figure 7
Hi, the missing figure is now posted in our forum. Sorry about that.

Free issue only reviewed once a year, apparently in January
I wrote php|architect to see if they could provide an online version of their December 2005 issue for free. It's the one where the above-mentioned Drupal article can be found.
and here is the reply:
Oh well, I tried! ; )
