This is probably a long off idea, but I wanted to document it as it seemed separate from:
#426610: Consolidate, Rearrange and Remove issue creation links from project pages
and
#426620: How can I customize the links under Support and Development on project pages?
Add a User Interface (UI) to add settings that would change the links listed under Support and Development
Crazy thoughts that seem like suggesting an implementation, but might better serve to explain more of my vision for the interface and not actual implementation:
I wonder if the lists of links that view issues under Support and Development on the project pages might be able to be a view of views?
Then the links (views) could be dragged and dropped to be reordered, and maybe the names of the links could be changed via the view cck field interface? (yieks, I'm reaching here).
Or, have a list of canned links, and select for each link: Support, Development, or Hidden?
And some way of editing the link text for each link. (hmmm there is a module that searches for strings and changes them)
The UI for changes to the project page links could be "Project settings".
Another thought is to allow the UI to specify the defaults for all Projects, and have a "force all projects to use defaults" option.
If forcing each project to use the defaults is not checked, than each node that is a content type Project, could have the same UI in the edit (or a separate links settings tab) and changes there would apply to only that particular project.
Enough ideas for now! Thanks.

dwwThis is firstly blocked on #372580: Move the project node links to blocks.
However, it's ultimately blocked on panels integration. I forget if there's already an issue about that. ;)
