The prototype shows an events page (http://infrastructure.drupal.org/drupal.org-style-guide/prototype/events...) that does not appear to have been created in the current drupal.org development site (the events link in the footer of the dev site goes to http://groups.drupal.org/events)

We need to figure out what is going to happen here - create an events listing system like the prototype suggests, link to http://groups.drupal.org/events, or something else.

So there actually is an events page (at http://theming.dosprint.org/test-1/events) it just needs to be developed more.

And we need to update the events link in the footer. (New issue is here: http://drupal.org/node/428204)

OMG NO!

As far as I know, we discussed that the jobs and events listings will be kept on Groups for now. That site already has this feature, no need to have it duplicated on the main site too. Also, keeping the main site light is a goal we have. There are other things like the navigation linking out to the API site or the association site. The new drupal.org will just be multiple websites under the same theme and main navigation with single-sign-on, so to most people it will hopefully appear as just one big site. No need to try and fit everything in on drupal.org.

@Gabor - We are happy to keep events on groups.drupal.org site but I would really rather move Jobs to some other site. Perhaps the redesign team can discuss this.

SF redesign sprint team came to the same conclusion (that events and jobs will stay on g.d.o for now), update is here - http://groups.drupal.org/node/21183
