Newbie here. I added a couple of blog entries and they turned out okay except the comment section didn't show up. Here is my blog entry setting:

Administer > Content management > Content types > Blog entry > edit > Comment settings :

Default comment setting: Read only
Default display mode: Threaded list - expanded
Default display order: Date - oldest first
default comments per page: 50
Comment controls: Do not display
Anonymous posters may leave ...
Comment subject field: Enabled
Preview comment: Optional
Location ...: Display below post or ...

What did I miss? I'd like to have "leave comments" available.

permissons on the comment.module are set in administer -> permissions

have you checked them?

I'm having exactly the same problem!?

It's very wierd and quite confusing...
If you want you can go to www.brucemeissner.com and find a blog post to comment on. Try comment and see what happens.
It wont show up, but then go back to the main overview screen of the blog and you'll see the number of comments on the post you commented on has increased, but still no comments showing??

Hi Bruce,

I haven't found a solid answer to this. It could be a combination of configuration, the right sequence of how to enable/disable things, etc. Here is a link to another thread that may give you some hints: http://drupal.org/node/23703 .

If anyone else has this problem, this is the fix http://drupal.org/node/418162 well it worked for me.
