The HTML newsletter looks AWFUL in Outlook Express. Man I hate Microsoft. The newsletter was looking perfect in Gmail but un-useable in Outlook Express
These issues are ONLY in Outlook Express....Gmail they act normally
- if plain text was left in a paragraph (
tags), the entire text is clickable, taking the user to the Newsletter node. THis isn't SO bad but the text is also rendered into a different colour (must be taken somewhere from the theme).
- tables seem to cause grief....all cells are left with considerable padding....I'd say about 100px. I've made sure in the node (I use FCKEditor) that the cell padding properties for the entire table are set to 0 but Outlook still leaves a padding (GMail is fine).
- the table properties in the node are set to 100% width. In GMail it's fine (again) but in Outlook, it still renders the width slightly wider than the window causing a small horizontal slider
- the user also tried creating a rather complex series of tables, with more tables inside of the main table's cells.....once again, it looked fine in Gmail but in Outlook Express, it ended up being about 6 screen-widths wide and the footer was all the way to the right of the initial table, instead of at the bottom where it should be.
So obviously there are issues with OE and tables....but is there any sort of fix or work-around? (other than don't use tables!?)

gatsby8870 commentedI apologize but would someone kindly point me to the most recent solution for this? I have come across posts listing patches from 2008 that are outdated to resolve this issue.
Is there a solution to resolving the incompatibility/display issues with a Drupal newsletter and Microsoft Outlook?
I would really appreciate any guidance!
Thank you so very much!

sutharsan commentedIf your problems are like mdowsett's this is not caused by simplenews or can be solved by it. Check out the mimemail issue queue.

petergroft commentedWhen the Outlook program will not Send or Receive email, it can be caused by several issues.
An Outlook Add In, not functioning.
Incorrect mail settings.
Security software blocking email.
A Corrupted Outlook profile.
A Problem with the Outlook application.
Greetings,
Peter
