Is anyone aware of any modules that allow for a customer to put a deposit down on an order?

I am adding a product kit which is much more expensive than most of my items and I would like to allow users to put a deposit down on their purchase and be able to pay the order in full by a certain date. Any help would be great!

I would suggestion creating a Role, like "Customer (deposit only)" and "Customer (fully paid)" and use the role engine to work through your solution.

I don't know of a module per-se, but it may give you a starting ground in writing your own, perhaps?
