Description

Hi.
Nomatter what I do, nomatter what I change, the Kudos always appear disabled on the comment/node page. Nothing happens when I click them. Am I doing something wrong here?

Thanks for any help offered.

Are you the owner of the content? The module doesn't allow the creator of a piece of content to give kudos to themselves.

The other possibility is that the role that the user you are logged in as does not have permissions to grant kudos.

Are either of those two possibilities the case?

Is there any additional information regarding your setup that might help diagnose the situation?

Hi, the stated issue is no longer a problenm, they decided to work, and no, non of the things you said were a problem, :S nevermind, it probably me not paying attention to something small as usual :D

I have another issue, and this doesnt give me no clue how to fix it... everytime I click the "give Kudo" icon, it returns a javascript "alert" box saying "Unknown Error"

An error alone is bad enough, but an error which doesn't even know what its own entity is, that's just maddening, lol. Any ideas on how to fix this?

PS: Thanks for replying so soon ;) greatly appreciated!

nevermind, this was fixed with a simple setting change.
But before I leave, I wana say thanks for a fantastic (and mandatory) module, and also thanks for your quick response and support. Keep up the excellent work!

I am getting the same error Dark-Light was getting. It would be nice to know what settings he changed. Mine was working before though. It seems as though it stopped after I installed the newest upgrade. Im using 6.x-1.6

Would it be possible to check what the path to the image is via rendered the HTML source? I believe the problem that Dark-Light was having had to do with the paths being a bit out of wack. For instance, the configuration in the admin should be absolute from the root of the site. That means beginning with a slash. ie. "/images/" rather then "images/"

I'm not saying that this is definitely the cause, but more information about what exactly is happening for you would be helpful in determining. Thx.

Ohh.. I apologize, I was thinking about a different ticket.

Things to check in setting up the module.

- A user must be granted the permissions 'view kudos' in order to see any kudos (even to give)
- A user must be granted 'give kudos' in order to give kudos to other people
- A user role (on users or owner of the content) must have been granted permission to earn kudos
- A user can not give kudos to themselves
- If 'rescind' is not enabled, then once a user has given someone a kudo, the kudo on that user/content will appear disabled.
- If 'rescind' IS enabled, then the button will un-grant the kudo from the user/content

Hope this helps.

Going to close this as there doesn't seem to be anything more to be done. Please reopen if there is still a problem.
