This is a one line cvs patch detailed here to allow custom modules to integrate data that does not store dates/timezones in the manner expected by the Drupal format_date() function (i.e. CiviCRM). This patch is PHP 4 & PHP 5 compatible

if you need support for this to go live, i say yes.
i implemented it and it allowed us to serve up CiviEvents via a view into the calendar, a huge win for us.
this patch rocks!
