I updated drupal to latest version and I ran update but this is what i get, fivestar can not be upgraded. Can you tell me why?

This is the same as #449166: Update.php fails in 6.x-1.14, Call to undefined function content_check_update(). It sounds like you're actually running 1.14, not 1.15 (in which the problem was fixed). You should download the 1.15 version again and try re-installing it.
