I was reading the Readme, but could not figure out how to use this module.

is storylink available?

I couldn't find storylink, too. It seems it moved and became a seperate module, but there is nothing to download.
Is it possible to use this module without storylink, or we have to have storylink module?

Same here, well, I managed to show the widget, the up and down arrows, the vote seems to work, but I really don't know how to display the results (I'm kind of a newbie at drupal).

Storylink was split from Vote Up/Down as the Storylink module at http://drupal.org/project/storylink. That Storylink module was then abandoned. However, I just finished getting it working for Drupal 6.x again. See #721320: Offering to maintain Storylink. I hope that helps you.

By the way, you can now add the Vote Up/Down widget to any node type. Just got to the Vote Up/Down settings under /admin and pick the node types you want the voting widget added to.

Okay, I found this post, which was helpful: http://drupal.org/node/544354

But really the documentation needs an update. It is confusing to read about 'storylink.module' and the module isn't actually there.
