I'm sorry if this is a bit of a crosspost from http://drupal.org/node/357867 -- I just wasn't sure if that issue would get much attention due to both its semi-cryptic title and my necromancing/hijack of said issue.

I would really LOVE to be able to display only the next repeat of a given repeating date. Specifically in my case, I'm looking to do this within the node itself, but a view would be OK too.

I understand this is a view format option in 6.x-dev, is there any hope of this type of functionality in 5.x, and failing that, any possible pointers in using a computed-field (ala the above-referenced issue), or template to acheive the same?

I am guessing that this will not get added to 5.x... unless someone provides a developer with some motivation ($$$)...
