I installed beta 3 along with ACL RC1 and cannot find the path to access the permission. My admin users also are locked out of the forums and forums can now only be accessed by user 1. This is a dev site.

I just can't seem to find out how to actually assign these permissions.

Any ideas?

I found this page but I think this is just because of ACL,

admin/content/node-type/forum/access

go to administer -> forums

I don't see forums under administer.

I have advanced forums installed and I can access this admin/content/forum

you should certainly have a link at administer -> content management -> forums which is the path you've given admin/content/forum

edit the forums and check for settings.
