Hiding Forums from Anonymous users (Ignore)

Hi - What is the best way to hide Forums from anonymous users, yet enable them for authenticated users.
Even better, can they be managed so that roles can be provided either view, update or moderate access to individual forums.

You really don't need to change your post after it has been answered.
As well as being an instant "Ask Worldfallz" the forums also serve as a resource for other people coming along with the same question. If you change your post it can get confusing!
