If you take a look at the screenshot, you'll see that the "input format" and "file attachments" form elements get lost in the mix. There should be some way of distinguishing these from the other unrelated items.

cosmicdreams commentedGood point. I think this view is the user 1's view. Not all users will see so many collapsable sections by default.
However I agree with your point. These collaspable sections give no precedence to the most commonly used sections. It might make sense to be able to keep a few of these sections expanded so that an administrator can emphasize that section to their users.

elv commentedIcons may be a way to highlight them. Or grouping them right below the body field, but it don't think it could be done easily.
Also, in the usability group there are currently attempts at redesigning the node edition pages. Dividing them into tabs like at http://kreativmango.no/dev/drupal/node-tabs/ may help. Fieldsets used to modify the content itself should remain on the "edit" tab, and other settings would go on the "settings" tab.

cosmicdreams commentedI like the mockup but have a few alterations:
* When separating the options to extra tabs, collapseable sections should be expanded to reduce mouse clicks.
* The number of tabs should be reduced to View, Edit, Upload, Settings.
* Edit should contain the extra options related to the text of the post (input format, Publishing Options, Author information)
* Upload should contain file and image upload management
* Settings should contain all the various admin and author settings (Comment Settings, Menu Settings, URL Path Settings)
If we were to continue with a 1 page content creation we could group these options as well. We could expand the groupings instead of each individual option. And of course, we could use permissions to control which option to hide and hide the group if all the members are hidden.

cosmicdreams commentedLooks like you've opened another issue specifically for your mockup. Should I mark this issue as a duplicate?

elv commentedThe discussion in the usability group goes far beyond the Upload file fieldset alone, so I think we can close this one.
