Description

There are three main differences between the main links page and the admin page:

  1. "Edit" and "delete" links.
  2. Inclusion of the "Unpublished" group.
  3. Menu placement (which can have theming implications).

I rarely use the admin page myself. I don't see that last item as significant, but there was an issue about forcing the admin theme on it, so I need further discussion on that.

I was thinking of adding a "show admin links" permission which could be used to take care of the first two.

Discussion, please.

The fact that there has been no discussion, coupled with having to find #504790: "Edit Link" / "Delete Link" not appearing in overview on user's own links myself, confirms that few people are using this page.

I don't think there is a need for a new permission; 'administer weblinks' should take care of it.

Oh no, WL is smaller, faster, and less complex. I'd better not commit this... ;-)

I'm sorry, I don't understand what you are suggesting. I haven't been using Web Links very much, but I do find it confusing that the Web Links Overview page and the Web Links settings page are in different menus. Can you explain again what you would like feedback on and I'll do my best to comment.

That was done before I came on board, so I don't really understand it either, but now there is only one page.

You had opened an issue about using the admin theme, which the Overview page used. Now that the Overview page is gone, is the loss of the admin theme usage a problem for you? BTW, the add/edit group page should still be using the admin theme.

I see. I haven't downloaded the dev release so I didn't know that the Overview Page has been removed. When I get a chance I'll have a look.

Anyone with "administer weblinks" permission will get the "Edit group," "Edit link," and "Delete link" links on the main page and the collapsing will be dependent only on the settings.
