I first wrote a question in the post http://drupal.org/node/492672 of the need for an anchor to position the location component that appears in node creation when using cck manage fields.

The response http://drupal.org/node/492672#comment-1706748 provides details on how this might be done.

I am wondering if this will require a patch or if this can be done as a configuration option.

Of course, the alternative is to create a new field of location type and this is being refined as discussed in other issues such as http://drupal.org/node/386848#comment-1705876 so this may be considered for a documentation issue if the field approach is preferred.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Is it that you want to change move the location fieldset up and down on the node edit screen?

If so this is already possible for both node locations and cck locations.

Please try the latest release and if you are still having problems reopen this issue.
