I've spent a better part of the day trying to sift through cck location/filter issues and I have not found an answer.
All the other posts are for filters with node location.
Thanks to YesCT, I realize that I need to setup a relationship and connect hat relationship to lat/lon fields. These fields must be degree decimal for the GMAP style to work.
Horray, hurdle one complete.
Now when I add a proximity filter, I then add the location relationship to it. But nothing shows up. It is an empty set.
I don't know which if any patch I might need. None of the patches for creating relationships between cck and views seem necessary.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Chris

phreestilr commentedI was able to get it to work for cck locations. In your view, just add a relationship to the location cck field, then make sure to use that relationship in your distance/proximity field and filter.
