Last week was DrupalCon Vancouver, with folks from all over the world converging to share, argue, network and babble about Drupal. If you're like Tim Jones, you didn't go to this at all-- but you would have if it had been happening, say, on U Street instead of in Canada.

On that principle, Tim Jones, Eric Gunderson, and myself (Ted Serbinski) have decided to invite anyone who's interested to join us next Thursday for the first Dodge City Drupal MeetUp.

The goal is for Drupal newbies and experts alike to meet, get to know each other and talk about what we're doing with Drupal (and maybe complain about it, too).

Join us 6:30pm, Thursday 2/23 at Busboys and Poets, next to the U Street Metro (map). Plenty of beer, coffee and wifi for all!

If I get a visa!?! So I'm going to Copacabana (Rio, Brazil) next saturday (18) to be one of the 1.5 million peolple watching The Rolling Stones show in the wonderful city.
Sorry about that, but I can't participate in, because I can't get my visa to visit the USA.

Hats off to you guys for taking the initiative! My coworker Andy and I were looking over the Development Seed sites today. We have about 3 months experience developing with Drupal this winter and are starting to hit our stride. Looking forward to meeting the community and hearing some war stories, tricks - and well educated complaints. Count us in.

Thank you all for coming tonight! Especially thank you Ted and Tim for being instrumental in pulling this together and getting people out. It was wonderful meeting so many new people in the Drupal community that are right here in DC and talking about all these very exciting and different projects that are coming together.

For people that could not make it we had an awesome turnout! 40+ people by the end of the night. It was the most economical sms study possible… The ‘first round of drinks’ ended as a $280 bar tab and refined the Drupal’s sms integration a bit. :)

I look forward to figuring out how to capture this energy and making this meetup happen on a semi-regular basis.

Keep up the great work. I hope some one (cough cough Jeff) will post some flickr shots tomorrow.

I'm just ticked that I missed this thing. I was in the middle of rolling out 30+ (!!!) Drupal-based sites and completely forgot that this was going on until the next day.

Hopefully, there will be another one soon...and I'll be there.
