the menu of this website is so cool,
as you go over most of the menu titles, it gives the titles/headlines of the current stories within each topic. does anyone know how that is done? thanks

Perhaps it's some sort of Dynamic Persistent Menu, see: http://drupal.org/project/dynamic_persistent_menu
Or it could be a configuration of Nice Menus, see: http://drupal.org/project/nice_menus
Or it could be DHTML Menu, see: http://drupal.org/project/dhtml_menu
Or it could be a purpose built script.
