The comment bodies on my site were showing twice. The Title just shows once, but the body text repeats twice. I tried a lot of different things to resolve this issue, but what seems to have worked is backing off the Fivestar Comment module, of which I was using the version Fivestar 6.x-2.x-dev. I reverted back to 6.x-1.15 and re-activated the Fivestar Comment and I have no double comment posts now.

This also happened to me, and the fix is exactly what you stated (although I got 6.x-1.18) It also affected my Advanced Forum - any post would be double printed.
