Which module(s): looking for similar to TotSpot or Carepages

Hi all.

Working with Drupal 6 on a new site (not yet live). I am trying to figure out a way to have a Carepages.com or Totspot.com like functionality: eg. members would have a private area with photo gallery, blog, maybe videos etc., and they can allow only their family members or friends to visit. In the case of Carepages, invitees have to become members : in the case of Totspot they can just be sent a special word to use to login.

What would be the best way to accomplish this?

Drupal can do this no problem. Some modules you'll want to look at are:

How would I go about allowing members to have a private area that they invite people to visit?

I would probably set this up with http://drupal.org/project/og, but you could use roles as well and something like http://drupal.org/project/join_role_with_password.
