Can anyone share a list of steps to making a newsletter?
Does it create a content type that I can overwrite with panels?

I apologize...
I recently took over maintainership of this module and the "help" portion is simply unacceptable... I'll be working on improving that very shortly.

Good stuff - thanks! I'd be happy to help make sense of it from a noob perspective. I also have installed this and attempted to use it to create a newsletter for my community website (http://www.kabissa.org) without success, but if it can be made to work would like to try again.
