We've got another rocket scientist spammer (spamming the same nofollowed 2 links over and over) trying to scam the forums :
http://drupal.org/user/507572 (this user's link spam removed)
http://drupal.org/user/431816 (this user's link spam removed)
http://drupal.org/user/429210 (this user's link spam removed)
http://drupal.org/user/432127 (this user's link spam removed)
http://drupal.org/user/541842 (this user's link spam removed)
http://drupal.org/user/541850 (this user's link spam removed)
http://drupal.org/user/541836 (this user's link spam removed)
http://drupal.org/user/433827 (this user's link spam removed)
But my favorite is when he posts on his own threads:
http://drupal.org/node/375531
http://drupal.org/node/380722
Yes they are drupal sites and yes they are nofollowed, but:
1) this is clearly aimed at trying to scam drupal.org
2) I really detest wasting my time, as well as others' time, on fake threads
3) this crap really friggin pisses me off
Anyone have a problem with me pulling the block user trigger on this genius?

nevets commentedI would agree they are spam, I say block the users.
I would also question the use of Drupal in the url and site name as they seem to run afoul of Drupal trademark status.
killes@www.drop.org commentedI've filed an issue about the trademark with the DA.
killes@www.drop.org commentedWe probably should say that anybody who advertises a commercial site which contains Dries' trademark in the name or the URL is deemed to be a spammer/persona non grata.

WorldFallz commentedThanks for the quick feedback!
Users blocked, i'll have to deal with the comments as time allows-- at least the links are no followed.

michelleAm I the only one not getting this? I keep looking at these accounts and seeing the trackers full of on topic answers to peoples' questions. Am I just getting here too late to see the spam?

balaji3 commentedhello guys,
for few reasons our(me & my friend, We work for same organization) account got blocked, genuinely we didnt know for what reason it got blocked. After i came to know about this link(http://drupal.org/node/506332), I came to know that...and i inserted my url in the post...and later i corrected it. This is the mistake done by me and I am very sorry for that. I am just beginner and in later post i did not do it.
the last account blocked was "theme developer", We did not spam any post.
We correctly answered few questions for which we know the answer is more appropriate.
could you please come up with list of post spammed by this user "theme developer" ?
Even we dont know the reason for this recent block.
http://drupal.org/user/601936
the only conclusion i could make out for the blocking is, i answered few questions in the drupal.org forum.
Please check this & let me know why this particular account got blocked ?
Please do not mistake me and i am not here for the argument and I really wonder & confused why this account got blocked ?

vm commentedbalaji3, Please take the time to read this entire thread.
may want to read http://drupal.org/node/506332#new a few times.
WorldFallz commentedThere's plenty of reasons why these accounts got blocked-- and VM is quite correct, read the thread.
balaji3 commentedVeryMisunderstood & WorldFallz, Thanks for your response.
I very well understand, Why the initial accounts got blocked.
Please refer the attached image taken from Joomla forum.
When any person gives some invalid link in the forum signature, first his signature will be modified with some sort of warning message.
But here the blocked user do not have any option or any way to know why it got blocked and for what reason ?
Really i find it difficult in knowing the reason for blocking my user account.
or in most of the forums, when any such a
my question is why the recent my account got blocked ?
http://drupal.org/user/601936 with use ID "theme developer"
could you please come up with at least two posts which are spam ? or which does not answer it correctly to the user answered questions.
Ok..anyhow...I dont want to argue on this.
But, I personally feel that If any user is blocked he should be notified or warned or emailed in any form or at least in my case this particular url had all the history, or this kind of URL should be known to the user....please note i am talking abt the beginner to this forum.
WorldFallz commentedWe usually do warn users via email when it's not obvious spam or a spambot. This is not, however, a typical case of a misguided user. In this case the infractions are so egregious as to be absurd-- do you really expect us to waste time sending dozens of emails? Stop trying to game drupal.org and you won't have any problems, period.
vm commentedThe account you keep questioning is using a trademark in the domain name that isn't yours or your companies. It is obvious that you still have not taken the time to read comment #3
Also of note: At the time that this thread was created and the users in question were posting, signatures on drupal.org were not working. Thus the accounts that were created were posting links directly into content.
