Now that Panels 3 is, at last, at a release candidate and, according to its maintainer, seems to be working very well, I wonder if this integration with Panels could be included in Advanced Forum 2.x, at least an initial, optional integration. I think it was planned before for AF 3.x. Thank you for this great forum module.

Probably not. It really has nothing to do with Panels' stability but simply lack of time. The first part, making a system page, has a good chance of being included since that's something that can be added on without major changes. Panelizing the forum bits, however, will take some siginificant changes to the parts of core forum that AF overrides to break things up better. Given that I'm pushing to get a 2.x release out by September, I don't think there will be enough time. This is something I would like for my own site, though, so will likely be an early addition to 3.x if it doesn't make 2.x.

This was all Earl. He needed AF to use Panels for the work he's doing and went in and kicked ass. :)
