Quote/Pay for users time-date-duration based services, similar to freelance site but also 'Booking' a user for a certain time??

Hi,

Is drupal 6 suitable for a site which would allow users to Quote/Pay for their time-date-duration based services, similar to freelance site but also 'Booking System' for booking a user for and at a certain time??

I have been looking through all of the modules and there are a few but none seem suitable or maintained. I do not have the funds to build the site from scratch so am looking at Drupal and other all alternatives, any advice either way would be ace!

you might be able to do this with http://drupal.org/project/ubercart and possibly the http://drupal.org/project/availability_calendars and http://drupal.org/project/simple_reservation modules (if you use content_profile to turn users into nodes you might be able to 'reserve' them). You may also wish to try the module posted at http://www.ubercart.org/forum/development/9166/hotel_module and see how that stacks up.
