Hi,

When I am viewing my site as an anonymous user, I can see the block fine for the subscribe to newsletter. But when I input my email and check subscribe, then press submit, the email doesn't get added to the subscriptions list. If I am viewing the site as a logged in user it works fine.

Any idea why this would be happening?

Because you need to confirm the subscription via the confirmation message.
