Subscribe. Just now encountered a real need for this on an almost finished project. I think I will put a role on the customer in association with the purchase, and then have Taxonomy Access Control prevent them from viewing or adding the product again. We'll see if that works for now.
Yes Ive been looking for this solution. An example is where you might want to create a free trial period for a membership using Free Order module. And you want to restrict that as a single lifetime offer. Otherwise users would be continually purchasing the free trial.

Oh, wait... on the http://drupal.org/project/uc_restrict_qty page it seems this will no longer be added as new feature?
I've also uploaded and tested the latest dev version. Creating tables failed. It also fails to restict the # of the items. (Guess this is related.)
