The view items are filters but the Node type filter shows all content types. How should we "filter" the node type filter: I suggest by some JavaScript...

This is somewhat of a UI issue, but I think it is also related to #810520: No results for multiple content types

I think it's fine if you create a custom view for these purposes. The default view lets you filter by any content type.
