i have to say i am not sure it will be practically usefull or security downside -if any

you can try with any other domain ... errr
http://gabbly.com/microsoft.com

or your own domain
oblivously something does not require login is open to abuse -thats the one downside i can see so far

It embeds a chat window in any web page. web proxying&iframes

Its a new app. ~.. so i am not sure what will be implications of this.. i came cross on Digg and tried on some websites. it seems useful when wisely used

i think the app.. just came out today.. so not sure usefulness implications on the web

more appropiate chat solution would be to implement ajaxcsspopupchat as Drupal module.
So only Drupal logged users can join to chat instead of open to 'public'

its GPL and Joomla has a module of ajaxcsspopupchat

There are more chat software for website and forums, gabbly included. And check the www.bubbles.com and www.geesee.com and this one, www.userplane.com, Userplane is now required by AOL. And another chat software mentioned above is www.123flashchat.com , which i like better. Hope this can be useful to you.

indeed after one year initially i posted above about Gabbly some chat implementations developed as Drupal module or others popped up as external all variety of shapes and features integrate to any website or blog.. it good to inform Drupallers and share possibilies and practices with them and integrate to drupal when its the right choice withing Drupal framework and mindset

- personally i dont need any of chat features.. just informing other Drupallers whom might want one

I've just finished work on a Gabbly integrated module for Drupal. It provides the site admin with room configuration, general Gabbly settings and some support for making the rooms private (to a degree) to the site.

Available for 4.7 at the moment.
