I noticed that all the comments on my site have disappeared - ie. that is, they are not being displayed. I've checked all the settings - nothing is changed and comments that have been published were displayed, until now.
I posted this on this page: http://drupal.org/node/23703 where there were other comments, questions, and links to related issues, but those are all gone as well.
One of the other issues was with anonymous comments. In my case, it is all comments. They are still listed in admin/content/comment and I can view and edit them there, and even though they are published and have displayed before, they and not showing up now.
Is is normal for comments on drupal.org to disappear? I've never seen this before.
Comments

Comments on documentation (where they benefit or flesh out the documentation) are often rolled into the documentation itself and questions and such are often deleted to keep clutter to a minimum.
It is best to ask your question in the forums and link to the documentatio page in question, to avoid having your comments purged.
understood
I can understand that. The only reason I posted there was because there were several other similar posts. So, I've posted here.
In any case, I still do not see comments on my site, comments that were there before and no settings were changed to make them go away. And I am still wondering what happened to make them disappear; they are still present and can be seen in one unformatted list if I click on "more" at the end of "recent comments" block.

I've no suggestion on that beyond, rolling back to to a backup, maybe on a test site and see if the problem also occurs in the backup.
Still looking for the Comments
I have been looking at every setting, eliminating unneeded modules, checking everything I can find and still cannot determine what has caused the disappearance of the comments on the related nodes.
I checked with the hosting service. They did make some changes, but they tell me that the changes they made should not have an effect on Drupal (but do they really know?). I'm posting part of their response here for reference:
We are now exposing the UIDs and GIDs that underly each site. Previously everything always mapped to "me" in the FTP/ssh/CGI environment to make things easier to document and to workaround a problem with SFTP. Usernames may still show up as "me" but the UIDs will vary. Per-site groups are now 6-digit numbers with no associated group name. The "web" group remains unchanged
Thanks. Any ideas on this will be appreciated.
Can you still see a set of
Can you still see a set of pagination links on your comment management page? I can see the pagination links, but not the comments. I've got "19 pages" of comments that I can't see. They don't show up on the individual posts, they don't show up on the comment management page.
comments return
Hello bobthecow - I got comments back. Prior to the fix, I could see them on the comments page and comments admin, but not on the related node pages. What I did was re-install drupal 6.13 completely and comments returned to normal.
