the "Weekly project usage" does not match the "Recent release usage"
examples:
[7.x] Weekly usage July 26th = 616
vs
[Release 7.x-dev] Recent release usage Jul 26 = 280
[6.x] Weekly usage June 28th = 154,137
vs
[Sum of releases 6.x-dev + 6.0-beta1 .. 6.13] Recent release usage Jun 28 = 165,541
what is the explanation for this difference?

Must be a bug - Panels http://drupal.org/project/usage/panels is also broken. The sum of Recent release usage of all D6 versions on August 2nd is 9306, but weekly stats show 13,286.
