ugesh.gali commentedIs There any way to integrate ideatorrent module in wamp which supports mysql?
MacRonin commentedI'd also be in favor of an MySQL option.
From looking at the original sites forums, it seems to be a popular request.
Can't wait to see 2.x - I hope it;s still in development

wheatbix commented95% of all drupal distributions are on MySQL.
Without compatibility people will not use it. Notice you only have one issue open.
Any help from the rest of the community to get this going would be very helpful.
I have noticed that on the official IdeaTorrent website it states that development has stopped on this project.
See http://www.ideatorrent.org/node/144
The whole idea of IdeaTorrent 2.x was that it used Drupal as a backbone, not just a display interface.
Can someone please take over this project.
Thanks.

ghazlewoodI'd be interested in looking at the code and project, I think Ideatorrent has a lot of potential if available to all as an install profile.

ndeschildre commentedHello,
Indeed one of the main target of the 2.0 version was to be a real Drupal module, using Drupal services, integrated with the classic contrib modules. One consequence would be Mysql support. (If you look at the code of version 0.9, you will probably scream: it is deconnected from the main Drupal services. Sorry for that, it was my first interaction with Drupal at the time).
I have to discontinue the developpement of version 2.0 since this was no easy project, and I am now maintaining a few others projects (http://drupal.org/node/665756)
Anyone willing to take the lead is welcome, but be aware, that's no easy project.
Cheers,
Nicolas

elijah lynnNicolas - I tried leaving a comment on your blog post but kept getting an invalid captcha error.
My question: If we were to get a chipin going would you be able to make time for the more Drupal-like 2.0 port?
ndeschildre commentedHello,
Well, the issue is not money, the issue is time :=)
The only thing that could make me go back to the 2.0 version is if my employer, France24, decide to use ideatorrent, and let me time for it. Hopefully it will, one day... but nothing planned and concrete so far.
But thanks for the idea.
Cheers,
Nicolas

elijah lynnThanks for your response Nicolas, I understand the time issue. We all seem to need more of it these days.
I started a thread in the forums (http://drupal.org/node/728574) for the idea of an Ideatorrent Drupal Distribution aka installation profile. Do you think this is feasible or are their technical problems you foresee.

jerrac commentedWhat all would it take to convert over to mysql?
ndeschildre commentedSomething like two full weeks?
It's not just simple SQL, there are some stored procedures (which, I agree, was not that good as a technical solution)
f0rd42 commenteddoes it make sense to migrate to MySQL? I've read somewhere that Drupal 7 will be PGSQL only ....
I'd actually me more interrested in knowing what does work in 2.x and what doesn't (compared to 0.9.x)
