My content types have fields with a default value.

When I create nodes with Outline designer, they don't have any default value set for these fields.

hm.. I just do a normal node_save function so I'm not sure why these wouldn't be prepopulated in the DB as the defaults...

this is an outlining tool for rapid prototyping of material, it's expected people will go back through after the fact and alter fields that are required (which they then won't be able to save without going through the process).
