Axel -- I think you need to edit and then save the group nodes after you've enabled access control. Probably they just don't have a corresponding entry in teh right table until you do. That ultimately worked for me: I was then able to see a "subscribe" link in the Group Details block.
Hi escoles. Thanks for your comment. I think though it was something else. I do have three different sites running under one installation. When I test a new module on myTestSite I tend to put it into the module folder of that site (myDrupalInstallation/Sites/myTestSite/modules) rather than into the overall module folder (myDrupalInstallation/Modules). I realised before that this sometimes causes problems. I've reinstallted OG in the overall module folder and everything is up and running.
I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out how to subscribe test users to an organic group that required appoval for subscriptions from a moderator. I tried your suggestion (edit the og and then save it) and it worked, now I see the pending subscriptions in the group details block.

I've only got og installed on a dev site where i'm use the 6-2-rc1 version but on my site the 'members' link in the group details block links to the correct page. You may to check the og issue's queue to see if this is an error in your version or a feature of the 2.x branch. Otherwise, yes, I would just manually add a link there.
I was struggling with this for a few hours and it turned out that if a group is set to "Private" the "X Members" in the group block doesn't show as a link. Switching the group to public makes it work fine.
Had the same problem on a fresh D6 site with just OG until I installed and enabled Views and OG Views Integration. Then the members text became a link.
Is the group creator/owner the only user who has access to view all subscribers to their group?
When I am logged in as the site admin (who is not the owner of any groups) I get an 'access denied' page when attempting to view all subscribers for a particular group.
It seems that only the group creator/owner and a group subscriber can view all subscriptions.
Is this correct? Or is there something that I'm not doing?

I am using group admin, think I changed default Drupal permissions and lost the add member to a group button, any ideas anyone, it won't come back...

Same problem but solve
I have same problem that can not add users to og group. But then I enable Organic groups access control module then the @count member of detail block become a link -> Click on that to add user.
