I have a content called "Submit Software". Now I setup the following taxonomy.

Vocabulay:
Operating System

Terms and child-terms within Operating System:

Windows

  • Windows 95
  • Windows 98
  • Windows NT
  • Windows ME
  • Windows XP
  • Windows Vista

Linux

  • Console
  • X11

Macintosh

  • Mac Classic
  • OS X

In the manage field within submit software content I added a field called Operating System. This of course will show the 3 operating system. Now I want to add another field which is of type checkbox so that when I select Windows in operating system only the child-terms within windows will show.

Anyone know how to do this?

But also have problems to display distinct terms... showing terms I always receive duplicates...

..really understanding your desires, but try creating a view of type "Term" and put "Taxonomy Term" in the fields dialogue, take it from there...good luck!

I'm trying Your way, but don't really sea no difference to view of type "node"... There is no even option about parent term and taxonomy depth... About child terms niether so I don't really know how to do this... How to use such a view to extract only child view...
Could You give some more description about detailed steps if You'll find time...? (haven't found solution in drupal forum, but many threads are about that problem)
(btw I'm using D6 and newset views)

Thx
