I can´t get it working.

I´m even not able to reproduce this tutorial: http://developmentseed.org/blog/2009/jan/30/easy-feature-building-spaces; the administration interface looks a little bit different in my installation and I´m not able to find some settings.

In addition, the default "blog" link goes to "page not found".

Thanks in advance for help.

The first part of my question ("the administration interface looks a little bit different in my installation and I´m not able to find some settings") is probalby a duplicate of http://drupal.org/node/550310 and is related to Feature module more than to Spaces module.

But I still don´t understand, why the example Blog (of Spaces module) goes to "page not found".

The second problem: in the views interface, the settings "Operator" and "space types" by Filtering by Spaces are completely missing. (I´m still trying to follow the instructions given at http://developmentseed.org/blog/2009/jan/30/easy-feature-building-spaces, but wihtout success, because I can´t find some of the settings).

Thanks in advance for help.

Same problem here ... I can get the blog to come up "Only" if I change the spaces_blog views Filter attribute (Spaces: Node in current space all all ) to [When not in a space] > Show all results, then the blog page works.

If using the [Hide all results] it does just that unfortunately & nothing is visible . So I am guessing the spaces_site ... is broken somehow? I've tried many things and reverted back to the spaces_blog Default several times. I have also added the variables to the page tpl and switched the secondary links to features menu. The secondary links do not show (tho Blog & My Blog have been added in the menu structure). The only menu item that does show is [Site settings] which does show the blog feature is enabled.

I also noticed when visiting ... mysite.com/blogs/user .. the blog posts do show up and the context works! .. its just the /blog page that's mucked!

Did you ever figure what the prob in your rig was?

Cheers!

Over on IRC Yhahn said its not recommended to use the spaces_blog to test as it may have inconsistencies, so I set about making my own blog feature and wound up with the same problem::: Page not found.

However...
not sure if its the same prob as urs .. but when I switched the view filter in my blog view from [Spaces: Node in current space] over to [Spaces: Node type in current feature] filter .. (thats diff than in the video) it worked perfectly.

Cheers!

hmmm .. well im a little stumped

When I switched the view filter in my blog view from [Spaces: Node in current space] over to [Spaces: Node type in current feature] filter... the nodes come up on /blog path ... otherwise I get a page not found.

Or ... I can use [Spaces: Node in current space] but I have to set [When not in a space: Show all results] which seems to defeat the purpose of the filter? I dunno. Does this mean that the space is not triggering properly?

I am attempting to enable my custom blog feature to my site space. Do i need to make a spaces_preset for this to work? Admittedly im a little mystified by the spaces_preset bits (I have none created) is that a problem?

Oh yeah you'll need a spaces preset I'm pretty sure.

Hi,

I use scenerio # 2:
"Or ... I can use [Spaces: Node in current space] but I have to set [When not in a space: Show all results] which seems to defeat the purpose of the filter? I dunno. Does this mean that the space is not triggering properly?"

I find it all very confusing as well, but I think this setting allows a "site/public" blog post to show up(one that is not in a group), but will still allow private blogs for private groups.

If I am wrong on this , please let me know. Again, I am still trying to wrap my head around it all.

Hi,

I get the same issue, I have spent hours searching on the web a tutorial to make this space feature work currently but until now I failed.

If someone has an updated tutorial please help us, I'm unable to make this spaces function work correctly

Thanks

Hi folks,

Spaces 2.x is no longer supported and so I'm setting this issue to closed. I think Spaces 3.x is much improved - so i'd encourage any of you to check that our, be sure to take to take a look at the README.txt.
