It would be excellent if the zen_ninesixty theme includes a zen_ninesixty_STARTERKIT the same way that zen has it. I am very sure that the zen_STARTERKIT was very helpful when you created this theme. This would ensure that we don't hack the zen_ninesixty.

onejam commentedzen_ninesixty isn't meant to be a based theme though i know you can have a sub theme of a sub theme. If you don't want to hack this theme, you can still create a sub theme of this sub theme and in your .info change the name of the base theme to this one.

juan_g commentedOn the NineSixty issue Sweeping changes for upcoming 2.0, the first point listed is "A starter theme directory."
Possibly you might adapt it for Zen nineSixty when that version is released, to facilitate creating sub-sub-themes (Zen -> Zen nineSixty -> custom).
