I'd like to help bring people together / coordinate a Kannada l10n group. Can we have a team setup please?

I will also try and get in touch with Hari Prasad Nadig - http://drupal.org/user/26967 personally, who has previously contributed Kannada translations as well as heads a Kannada l10n effort at http://dev.sampada.net/

I've been researching for existing Kannada translation around the net, but did not find either.

Please expect that there might be bumps in the service. You are among the beta-tester of this live instance. Thanks for helping out and please report issues as you find them! Your team members can now join and help import existing translations and work on more translations.

Also note that I've set this up so that it uses a controlled model (that group admins moderate translations). If you'd rather work in an open model (that everyone can directly submit translations), that is up to you and you can edit your group node to reconfigure anytime.

Anyone about to start Kannada translations? This group was added over 3.5 weeks ago and no progress have been made! What is stopping you from contributing?

Gabor, I got held up real tight with some deadlines. I intend to start very soon!
