Best Album Gallery combination
noureddine - September 2, 2009 - 12:31
Hey guys,
im still new to drupal, im trying to find the best combination of modules to create album gallery.
i have tried a lot of ways, but they all create an image gallery, which is not what i want. what i need is an album gallery where multiple albums can be manipulated in views.
i tired the image module with imagecahe and image api. but i dont want to use taxonomy to create the albums.
PLEASE i need help
Thanks very much in advance

I am new to drupal, well i have already seen this video and there are a lot things i have not grasped.
for example from where did he get the views and how did he configure the image cache and how to add an image to a listing.
also i would like to know how to create a block containing the albums with the latest image.
please if there is a document that would walk me through fixing up the gallery i would really appreciate it
thanks a bunch

I don't know of a document, but the method itself is implemented as the views_gallery module.

i have been trying to make this gallery for over week now and im not able to understand how it works and i need it badly.
can some one give me a step by step easy way to configure the views_gallery module. i tried to configure it but no views where generated and i always have an error message
Field field_gallery was not created for photo because a conflict was detected for the following properties: advanced_view, advanced_view_args
and i try to go into the views and didn't find any views in there.
thanks

Hmm... that means there's a problem importing a view iirc. I've used the module and it works great, so I don't think the problem is there. Try starting over completely-- disable the module, uninstall it (via the uninstall tab), remove any views you might have created while trying to make the gallery manually, and disable and uninstall the image module if you have it. Also, make sure you have the most recent versions of all the modules views_gallery depends on.

Views Gallery works in IE, not in Firefox?
I created my first slideshow using the Views/Gallery, and for several days it all worked fine. All of a sudden I noticed that images were no longer rotating. I went back to look at the View (but I knew I hadn't changed anything)...then discovered that it worked fine in IE??
What had changed? I had installed the 'notify' module, and it complained about some js files (which I found and uploaded to the datepicker)...could that somehow have effected things? I'm at a loss,
Mark
Not sure what your exact
Not sure what your exact requirements are but you can take a look at http://drupal.org/project/acidfree - there is 6x version for it. As far as I remember Views and Acidfree are mutually compatible.

I know we've been round about on this before, but you really should warn people that this module is, for all intents and purposes, abandoned if you're going to recommend it. Especially with imagefield an imagecache in core with d7.

well still no solution but i
well still no solution but i need to take a decision by next week, cause i have the release of the website. but i saw a solution where u create a content type with multiple images attached to a node. but im still having a problem with showing the albums in views. since its related to image cache but it seems that image cache is not working. so im deep trouble so i want a solution that is easy to implement . if you have any. thank you very much for your help
best regards,

That is the easiest solution, though the lullabot method is more flexible. If you're having problems with imagecache I recommend you try and get them sorted-- with over 60k users and it's inclusion into core for d7 there's probably not a decent method that will not involve imagecache.
