Apologies if this information is identified elsewhere, but I wasn't able to locate it.

I have done a fresh install of Drupal 4.6.6 and i18n (including the associated i18n_blocks and i18n_menu modules).

I'd just like to know if there is a recommended method of creating menu items that reflect the chosen language, preferably using the menu.module that is part of core.

It appears in the documentation that the i18n_menu module requires the locale.module, which doesn't appear to be current.

Can anyone direct me to any (step-by-step) documentation that I can use to setup such a menu?

This has been addressed in newer versions (5.x, 6.x) and Drupal 4.6 is not supported anymore. Please, consider upgrading
