I followed the instructions to upgrade from panels 2 to panels 3 (added ctools first, disabled panels, removed the panels directory and replaced it with the new one). No errors on the upgrade

but when I go to my site, none of my panel pages appear, and when I click on Site Building-->Pages and try to edit a panels page, I also get the page not found error.

I cleared the caches. What else can I do?

Make sure Panels is enabled when you hit update.php -- it appears that there is a problem with update.php when Panels is disabled.

Aha. That's what I did - had it disabled when I updated. Didn't know that. Thanks. So I assume all I can do now is revert and try again?
