Description

hello,
i upgraded simplenews some time ago, and now see duplicate menu items in the module admin section (http://example.org/admin/by-module). the duplicate items, however, link to distinct pages, which is a headache and a half.

i've attached a screenshot of what i see now. honestly, it's pretty confusing to have multiple links with the same names that all go to different pages. the module itself seems to work fine, but administering it is driving me a bit nuts.

yes, this is confusing. This is partly be design of Drupal core (it collects all links and sorts them alphabetically regardless what menu section they belong to) and partly due to the name of the menu-item. Do you have a proposal to improve the names?

ah, so you're saying that the menu items i see aren't actually duplicates, just named in similar fashion? because i swear i have two links that both say "newsletter."

if you'd like, i can think a bit about better names, and shoot them over to you.

thanks!

No response, closing the issue. debonator, if you have suggestions for the page titles feel free to re-open the issue.

ok, here goes:

(current title: suggested title)

Configure Permissions : Configure Permissions
Draft Issues : Draft Issues
General: Content Type/Vocabulary
Newsletter: Default Newsletter Options (or just Default Options)
Newsletters: View Newsletters (not even sure if this one is needed, since all the functionality is also under other menus)
Newsletters: Add/Edit Newsletters
Send Mail: Send Options
Sent Issues: Sent Issues
Simplenews: General Settings (again, this one seems redundant since all of the options are under other menus)
Subscription: Subscription Management
Subscriptions: Manage Subscribers

some quick notes:
*"Newsletter" includes default send options, which should probably be under Send Mail/Send Options
* Newsletters (the first one) only includes settings that also appear under other menus. You could remove this entirely if you wanted
* Ditto for Simplenews. Nothing there that isn't already under another menu, so you could also remove it if you liked
* Simplenews also has
