Synchronization of image does not work with ANY content type

Project:Internationalization
Version:6.x-1.1
Component:Synchronization
Category:bug report
Priority:normal
Assigned:Unassigned
Status:closed (won't fix)

Issue Summary

Hi,

For some reason on my installation, the Synchronization of an image field does not work with the content type 'story'. In the same website I made successful synchronizations with image with other content types. Afterwards I made a new content type and there it did work.

I'm deleting the built-in story-type and I'll replace it with one of my own. That solves it for me, but I feel that this will need to be fixed anyway.

Great module by the way. Really cool.
Cheers,
Danny

Hmm, it doesn't work anymore with any content types...

I enabled image to synchronize it http://dannyjoris.be/files/fora/image_synchronize.png, but when i save content, the message says '0 nodes synchronized'. http://dannyjoris.be/files/fora/0_synchronized.png

Thanks for your help.

Now when I delete a translated node, it doesn't even delete the other node anymore. It used to work and it's falling apart while I work on my website. This is a very critical bug. I would love to help with giving more information, but I wouldn't know where to start. I have No Clue what causes this...

Node creation works all fine.. but the message after node creation already says that 0 nodes have been synchronized. Obviously something goes wrong with node creation already, but the output of the node creation works fine...

Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Danny

Disabling and enabling the module again does not work. I have no clue what to do. Can someone give *any* suggestions on what I can to to locate the problem better?

Thanks for your feedback!
Cheers,
Danny

I have a fresh install of Drupal 6.14. Synchronization doesn't work at all for me too... I'm trying to enable syncronization on a CCK FileField by the way.

Danny, have you updated Drupal from an earlier version to 6.14?

Cheers,
Wagner

Hey Wagner,

I'm running Drupal 6.14 as well.

I can't really remember if I upgraded. My project started about mid-september and I see the D6.14 was released on 16 sept, so I'm not sure.

I'm trying to synchronize on deletion and CCK imagefield (which relies on CCK filefield).

I'm kinda glad i'm not the only person with this problem, so this topic might get some attention.

Cheers,
Danny

There were multiple issues with taxonomy synchronization that should be fixed by now, [##605600]

I'm sorry to open this again, but I don't use taxonomy in my content types.
Or am I missing something and does synchronization always work with taxonomy?

Sorry, my previous post was on the wrong issue.

Same problem. At some point, before a whole truckload of assorted updates, this WAS working but somewhere along the road attached image synchronisation stopped working. The other aspects of synchronisation I use are still working. I'm using Internationalization 6.x-1.2 and Image 6.x-1.0-beta5 (previously 6.x-1.0-beta3 but same problem).

For me this also appears to be happening with whichever content type I try to synchronise (attached) image nodes with. The option to do it is there and selected, but it just don't happen.

Did Danny manage to resolve this problem?

Unfortunately I didn't. The website is online, but the client ended up not using multilanguage, so I don't have the environment where this happened anymore. I can try to set up a new test setup to see if the same problem occurs.

Maybe someone can throw some light on whether this issue is likely to have a fix some time soon or whether it is a more fundamental problem...

This is the behaviour which is wrong (but was right 'a while ago'!):
- When I initially create a translation the image attach field is not pre-populated.
- When I later select a different image to attach in one of the translations this is not reflected in the other translations.

I am currently on latest Dev versions of i18n and Image.

Just to clarify the problem (there a a number of 'similar' issues but I looking at these I think they deal more with translating image nodes themselves): The sites I have this issue with use Image module to create language neutral image nodes (no translation options). Other content types (page, story, custom) are language specific with translation options, and have Image attach fields activated. In "multilanguage options > synchronise translations > image module" the box for "attached image nodes" is checked. Other boxes are also checked (location, cck fields etc...) and synchronisation for these works fine.

Is a fix in sight or, if I would like this functionality, is the only option to abandon Image in favour of Imagefield?

+1 - subscribe - bump

I'm having quite some troubles with this as well. My client is creating a full page in one language first (including attached images and menu settings), and then translates to 2 other languages. Would be nice if she only had to update the body-text, especially since this person is quite unsavvy with anything that looks different from MS Office - which is why we invented CMS in the first place, didn't we?

So, great feature! (if it would work)

No solution coming yet? Anyone reading this who maybe solved it for him-/herself?
I might try and dive into this in the weekend... Although I'm far from a drupal expert (yet).

Danny-Joris, would you remember with which version of Internationalization it still worked / stopped working?
