Acidfree vs Views Gallery

I have 5.x site that I may upgrade to 6.x at some time. There's problem with Acidfree being unsupported so I'm evaluating possible switch to Views Gallery. I'm wondering if anyone did such comparison ? What would be estimated difficulty of converting ?
Views Gallery seems to me one of the best gallery solution for 6.x
