I would start with the Sony myplay.com artist sites.

Thank you for your response. I've had a look at myplay.com and registered there too - but can't find anywhere where there's live chat, or a forum type facility to share thoughts and music preferences. Have I missed something? I appreciate your input, thanks again.

Don't know about chats, but the forums are available through links to official sites from the artist pages-- the daughtry and pink sites for example.

Got it! Thanks again. Are there any others that you know about?

Maybe browse the sites listed at http://buytaert.net/tag/drupal-sites and see if they have forums and/or chat.

This one is the only one I can think of aside from Sony that was already mentioned. Unfortunately, Drupal's forums are mostly used by smaller sites. While we've made great strides in turning Drupal's forums into a normal forum from the user's perspective, there still are a lot of issues on the moderation end that make it difficult for large forums.

This is one of my Drupal sites that is pretty heavily themed and has a nice forum section... This site is in open beta. Am in the process of writing a Case Study describing how I built the forum and rest of the website--than will add it to the Drupal Showcase. Much thx to Michelle, once again, for the modules that allowed this to happen.

The modules consist of: Forum, Advanced Forum, Author Pane, FCKeditor, Flag/Flag_Friend, PrivateMsg, Userpoints

http://www.sceneorlando.com/forum - This page lists all available forums
http://www.sceneorlando.com/forums/general-discussion -This is a specific forum
http://www.sceneorlando.com/forum/welcome-read-me - This is a specific forum topic
http://www.sceneorlando.com/event/v3-release-david-d-bday-bash - Demonstrates comments as forum/author pane

Feedback is, as always, appreciated. Enjoy!

I would have had to look at the source to recognize it. I love seeing these well themed forums.

Thanks for sharing!

Hello there!

My name is Amy and I'm new to the Drupal forums.

I'm here because I have been looking into using the Drupal Advanced Forums for a project that I'm working on, but I can't find any examples of Advanced Forums implementations to check out and see how they work.

The stakeholders for this project aren't very technical, so the best way for them to figure out whether this solution would meet their needs would be to take a look at it in action.

I'm just wondering if you guys know of some current examples? Large or small scale.

I did a major google first, but I didn't come up with anything so it would be great if someone could point me in the right direction.

Thanks so much for your time!

Amy

The only one I can think of that's mostly forums is http://www.webmaster-forums.net. See http://www.apaddedcell.com/goodbye-vbulletin-part-two-how-we-got-away for more info.

Also, lots of the sony artist sites are drupal based: http://www.daughtryofficial.com/us/forum

Just as an FYI, the Webmaster Forums use their own customizations of core forum, not AF.

There is a showcase but I have no clue if the sites in it are still active. Other than removing my own just now, I haven't cared for the list in ages.
