Hi,

This is Sravan Kumar Web Developer of Musickafe.com can you tell me how many pages that you need to theme?

Not really sure? since I'm a beginner at Drupal and this is my first time to create a cms wtih my company using Drupal.

I may have to port like 2 to 4 pages?

it's a theme. that means it is basically the same for every page, just the content changes = cms. thus the question does not really make sense unless you mean "How many different styled content types are there?".

Well thank you for pointing that out...does content type also means "layouts"....
i will be needing a

  • master layout,
  • frontpage
  • detail product layout
  • a profile layout
  • a list layout

In this case you need to add at least one "0" to your budget and if you need design then a "1" at the front also.

Eg, a normal PSD to Drupal port is going to cost around 350 to 500 USD (or more depending on the complexity of the design and theme).

Design will cost at least that much again, around 500 to 1000 and up.

So for a normal Drupal theme the costs are somewhere between 850 to 1500 and up, it all depends on the complexity, style and extent of the work to be completed.

A 50 dollar theme is likely to be either generated with Artiseer or simply ripped off from somewhere and given minor tweaks or will be complete rubbish. Theming Drupal properly takes time and unless the themer was earning 2 dollars an hour then you need to up your budget if you want something decent.

Even in your country Drupal themers are charging 40 to 50 dollars per hour, I know, I employ one of them!

id just like to inject here, that the user asking for the services also gives no idea of what he would like his theme to look like. in the future, provide references to what you would like to see out of your site. color scheming is important, and can make or break a sites look even without graphics/icons in it. if you have a color set that doesnt make sense, noone will want to go back.

as well, providing links to pictures of drawings/sketches, paint program rendered ideas, etc. will also help people work with you on creating a theme. you really may not have to pay an arm and a leg to the right person, but people will need information as to what they should be aiming at.

overall tho, the creation of custom graphics will bump your theme up in terms of cost. if you have a pack of generic icons that you would like to inject into a theme, that would help keep things on the cheap. color themeing really isnt very hard at all, for the most part.

converting a templeate should not cost a fortune, realistically speaking. keep your wits about you.
