Hi,
I'd like to develop a twitter like drop down login box (I guess it uses JQuery) for my theme, and show the username and logout button in its place when user is logged in.
What's the quick and dirty way to get this running.
Thanks

Hi...there is quite a number of tutorials out there...using one of them I had been able to incorporate into a drupal 6.15 site. This thread is months old, but I would be happy to know if you have also found an alternative method that works.
Here is a tutorial
Here is a tutorial http://aext.net/2009/08/perfect-sign-in-dropdown-box-likes-twitter-with-... Unfortunately I do not have the skills to convert this into a module. How much would it cost to create a drupal module for this functionality.
Login Toboggan
Done this a few times, heres my tutorial that uses Login Toboggan module and some CSS to get the collapse effect like Twitters login box http://bit.ly/byr9rr
Pimp your Drupal 8 Toolbar - make it badass.
Adaptivetheme - theming system for people who don't code.
